POSITION SUMMARY

The Farm Operator II / Tractor Operator supports daily farm activities by operating heavy equipment to perform key tasks.

Arizona El Nino Farm (Dateland, Arizona)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Operating assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner to support daily farm activities.

• Field Operations – operate tractors, forklift and implements to perform required field tasks.

• Harvest Operations- Moving seed using hand-held rake or blower, removing branches or brush in rows to facilitate harvest of seed in the field.

• Field Prep (discing, bed shaping, etc).

• Troubleshooting equipment issues in field to minimize downtime.

• Completing daily paperwork on field tasks.

The Ideal Candidate

Desired Background

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent work experience.

• Prior experience operating a tractor, or other similar farm equipment.

• Experience with disc, blower, and other field implements is preferred .

• Prior experience working as farm labor.

• Fixed crop experience is preferred .

Knowledge, Skills & Talents

More specifically, we would seek the following attributes and competencies for the position:

• Must be able to apply good safety practice.

• Able to wear of personal protective equipment to meet health and safety criteria.

• Ability to complete daily field documentation.

• Ability to climb in and out of tractor/heavy equipment, as needed.

• Willingness to work exposed to outdoor ambient temperatures ranging from 45F in the winter to 118F in the summer.

• Must have flexibility to work any other shifts and be able to work overtime as required.
