Alumni Relations Coordinator
Position Summary
Plays a crucial role in an alumni office, helping alums stay connected to their alma mater and classmates. Here are some key aspects of the job:
Networking Events and Communication:
Plans and organizes networking events for alumni.
Communicate with alums, keeping them informed about school news, upcoming events, and opportunities.
Prepares regular email updates, newsletters, and glossy alumni publications help maintain connections.
Alumni Giving Programs:
Leads efforts to encourage alumni donations.
Work on fundraising campaigns, encouraging alums to contribute financially to support the institution.
Alumni giving is essential for scholarships, programs, and campus improvements.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired by completing a four- year college degree program in Business, Communication Arts, Marketing or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in higher education fundraising, event coordination, public speaking; or and equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include exceptional verbal and written communication skills, event planning experience, familiarity with computers and customer relationship management (CRM) software, and data management skills. Excellent communication skills and experience with recruiting and managing.
