General Description
The Billing & Account Coordinator has the primary objective of supporting the sales, premium accounting and finance teams via project involvement, regular analysis of group premium payment transactions, management of billing processes to ensure quality, and other special projects as requested by either the Vice President of Worksite Sales & Operations or other accounting/finance leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the accounting and finance team, provide reporting for group premium payment transactions as well as other cash account transactions such as suspense values, error log reporting and the like.
Support the sales team by serving as backup support on the production of group quotes and certain RFP activities.
Organize and carryout quality control audits on new business transactions – including newly issued membership data and new group list bills. Findings from these audits are to be shared with premium accounting leadership to ensure proper corrections are made prior to field distribution.
Provide backup services to the premium accounting team to support special projects on an ad hoc basis.
Handle the creation of master group contracts and certificates, working with the Group Onboarding Specialist to ensure proper contract pages are produced and distributed to the various parties.
Provide backup to premium application transactions, and other specific accounting tasks as directed.
Provide backup services, as needed, to support financial processes in new business and claims to support ongoing day to day activities.
Directly support internal and external audits as prescribed by the Chief Audit Executive.
Work with Project Manager on all platforms that require any unique setup or coordination with our administrative platforms.
Assist with findings from QA/QC efforts to build solutions to areas in need of mitigation or attention.
Education, Licensure, Certification, and Experience
HS diploma, some college preferred
Experience in basic financial accounting helpful
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Analysis and comprehension skills
Knowledge of basic financial concepts
Familiarity with using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word and other Office products
Working know how of business process
Excellent time management skills
Good command over spoken and written communication
Ability to thrive under own direction and as part of a larger project team
Organizational and presentation skills
