Peoples Bank Deposit Operations Specialist in Munster, Indiana

JOB SUMMARY

The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for performing various functions associated with the daily operations of the Bank, consistent with the Bank's mission and strategic objectives. This person is a team player and proactive worker.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Balance and clear differences on a daily basis and reconcile multiple General Ledgers and internal Demand Deposit accounts monthly or as needed
  • Maintain, update and process account information including, but not limited to, Bank Control, Deposit, Cardbase, IRS and Customer Information System (CIS)
  • Accurately process incoming and outgoing wires
  • Handle legal items and research related to customers and accounts
  • Interact with external and internal auditors, compliance reviews, and examiners to assist in Bank audits and examinations
  • Create, analyze, and review core and custom reports to assist in daily core bank operation functions
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, applicable laws, and regulations for assigned functional areas
  • Research, evaluate, and make recommendations to improve workflows, create operating efficiencies, and manage risk
  • Perform backup responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain current documented procedures
  • Work together with other areas of the bank to ensure stability across teams
  • Maximize technology to provide a consistent customer experience
  • Participate in meetings, training and special projects as required
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

The Deposit Operations Specialist reports to the Deposit Operations Manager and works directly with the Operations and Fraud teams. This position interacts with bank wide departmental personnel of all levels, banking center locations, and bank customers. Contact is also required with various third parties including vendors and community and professional organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years' banking experience
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Proactive and independent worker with the ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
  • Quick technology learner and early adopter
  • Sound judgement, analytical, and decision-making responsibilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with related software tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, banking core, and deposit processing, servicing and reporting systems
