Title: Lab Technician

Location: Nashua, NH area

Start Date: ASAP!

Duration: 5 months with possibility of extension or conversion (depending on projects)

Hours: Mon-Fri; 8am-4pm (needs to be flexible to work something like 12pm-8pm on occasion; it will depend on production/manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Duties include sample preparation, adhesion testing, physical property evaluations, recordkeeping in a laboratory notebook, supporting production runs with off machine testing and assisting team members as needed.

• This position may require extra hours/off-shift work to support Manufacturing and development projects.

• The product they will be inspecting is the back sheet coating for the solar industry.

• Lab sample preparation (Coating & Laminating) as directed.

• Perform physical and functional tests of samples and potential new raw materials as directed.

• Support production runs and technical projects with both coated and extruded products.

• Provide scale up support for Production Trials.

• Assist in the transition of new products to manufacturing; works with chemists, quality, and manufacturing personnel.

• Maintain careful records in a laboratory notebook.

  Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma with two to three years of related experience in a product development lab or manufacturing environment required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Associate or Technical degree in a science field preferred

• Experience in working with adhesives, coating formulations, coated products, or similar manufacturing environment preferred

• Experience with testing and analytical equipment such as microscopes, and Instron-type mechanical testing is preferred

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision

• Proficient in MS Windows/WORD/EXCEL
