Local company is looking for Personal Care Aides in Corinth and surrounding cities. Must have two years of  previous CNA or PCA experience in eldercare or with disabled clients to apply (certifications not required, ACTIVE volunteer/family care experience will be considered). Regular DL, auto insurance and RELIABLE transportation REQUIRED.  Part time hours from 18 hrs-35 hrs per week.

Education: Must have a HSD/GED, or be able to demonstrate the ability to read the written personal care services assignment and write adequately to complete required forms and reports of visits.

Training: Must successfully complete and pass the 40hour personal care services curriculum training course and the standardized exam designated by DOM.

Experience: Experience in managing a home or experience in care giving is preferable, but not required. Must demonstrate the ability to work well with aged and disabled individuals who have limited functioning capacity.  Must exhibit basic qualities of warmth and maturity and be able to respond to waiver participants and situations in a responsible manner. 

Responsibilities: Personal care and light home management tasks that follow provider service plans.

Provides the following personal care:

1. Mouth and Denture care

2. Shaving

3. Finger and toe nail care (no cutting)

4. Grooming hair-shampooing, combing and oiling

5. Bathing or bed bath-shower or tub (partial or complete)

6. Helps with dressing

7. Helps with toileting-bed pan, commode/chair, or urinal (emptying and cleaning)

8. Reminds waiver participant to take medications

9. Helps with eating

10. Transferring or changing the waiver participants body position

11. Helps in ambulation

Housekeeping tasks:

1. Assures that rooms are clean and in order

2. Prepare shopping lists

3. Purchase and store groceries

4. Prepare and serve meals

5. Laundering, ironing, sweeping, moping and dusting

6. Run errands

7. Clean and operate equipment in the home such as vacuum cleaner, stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer and small appliances

8. Changes linen and makes the bed

9. Cleans the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots and pans

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Must possess a VALID MS DL and have access to reliable transportation

3. Must be able to function independently without constant observation and supervision.

4. Must be physically able to perform the job tasks required and assurance that communicable diseases of major public health concern are not present, as verified by a physician.

5. Must have interest in, and empathy for people who are ill, elderly and disabled.

6. Must be emotionally mature and able to respond to waiver participants and situations in a responsible manner.

7. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively, assertively and cooperatively with a variety of people.

8. Must be a high school graduate, have a GED or demonstrate the ability read and write adequately to complete required forms and reports of visits.

9.  Must maintain current and active first aid and CPR certifications

10. Must not have been convicted of or pled guilty or nolo contendere to a felon of possession or sale of drugs, murder, manslaughter, armed robbery,  rape, sexual battery, any sex offence listed in Section 45-33-23(f) of the MS Codes, child abuse arson, grand larceny, burglary, gratification of lust, aggravated assault, or felonious abuse and or battery of a vulnerable adult or that any such conviction or plea was reversed on appeal or pardon was granted for the conviction or plea;

11. Must be able to carry out and follow verbal and written instructions;

12. Must have no physical/mental impairments to prevent lifting, transferring, or providing any other assistance to the waiver participant and

13. Must have completed training instruction that covers the purpose, functions, and tasks associated with the personal care attendant services

Supervision: The personal care attendant must report to the personal care services supervisor, agency director, or the individual designated to supervise the personal care services program.

 WEEKLY PAY NOW AVAILABLE!!! *Once hired, they are able to make their own schedules. Company pays .25 mileage for clients within a 30 mile radius. *Company requires applicants to provide their own fingerprinted background check and CPR certification *DUE AT TIME OF APPLICATION COMPLETION*
