MPB CONSTRUCTION, LLC Foreman in Westlake, Louisiana
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise pipe laying crews, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors, to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute pipe installation activities accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project timelines, goals, and priorities.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with crew members to review project requirements, safety protocols, and work procedures.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on their skills and experience, ensuring that work is distributed evenly and completed on schedule.
- Monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations, taking corrective action as needed to address issues and mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of work hours, equipment usage, materials, and other project-related data to track project costs and performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or non-compliance with safety standards, and implement corrective measures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper work techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures to promote skill development and a culture of safety.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor in the construction industry, with a focus on water and sewer pipe laying preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in underground utility installation.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making to address challenges and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and professionally to team members and stakeholders.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in construction management or related field is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
